How to use this siteAt the left of most pages is a menu of the available sections. The home page contains a short description of each section and the date the section was last updated. At the bottom of each page are buttons or links that get you directly to the home page or to the top of the current page. What the Counter MeansThe home page calls a CGI program to count hits. This is the only page with a counter. It is used as a coarse measure of the usage of the site; it will miss any direct access of pages within the site. (For example, if you bookmark the calender page, you will not trigger a hit each time you read it.) Most people can ignore the home page hit counter. TechnologyThis is not intended to be a fancy web site. The most advanced technology is JavaScript 1.1 (Netscape Navigator 3.0). What this site attempts to do is balance all the nifty new technologies with useability for the needs of the CSDC community. Strange BehaviorsNetscape Navigator 4.0 responds in a non-intuitive manner sometimes in this site. (At least the Macintosh versions do; I do not have access to Navigator on Windows or Unix machines.) Most of the links in this site use or create a new window for display. Navigator creates the window correctly, but the second time you use a link, Navigator does not switch to the new active window. IE 4.0 switches, but you must change the active window manually in Navigator. In Bob's Space Links, the animated GIF stops animating in Navigator when you select the next list. I don't know why. Web GraphicsSome of the animated GIFs are from Future AdditionsSome of the things that could show up here in the future:
